Resumen:
Dental radiology in horses is essential for diagnosing oral and dental disorders, which are often undetectable on clinical examination alone. Due to the large size and complex anatomy of the equine skull, specific imaging techniques are required, including intraoral, extraoral, and oblique radiographic projections. These allow detailed assessment of teeth, alveoli, and surrounding bone. Common indications include evaluation of apical infections, fractures, developmental abnormalities, and sinus disease. Proper patient positioning, adequate sedation, and high-quality radiographic technique are critical for accurate interpretation. Radiology plays a pivotal role in guiding treatment planning and monitoring outcomes in equine dentistry.
